Danish in Argentina
The participant of the ’Danish Voices’-project Jan Heegård, Karoline Kühl and ph.d-student Anna Sofie Hartling, consultant Jon Albris and MA-student Amalie Glargaard have recorded in total 128 Argentine Danes on several field work trips to different places in Argentina in 2014 and 2015. Our aim is to find out what characterizes Argentine Danish and how does it differ from Denmark Danish?
Read more about results and see our publications. About 13.000 Danes migrated to Argentina before World War II, and ca. 8000 stayed permanently in the country. However, we do not know the actual size of the Argentine Danish group today.
